It is intended to be an accessible, foundational textbook for students in entry-level occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant programs while also serving as a resource for those clinicians already in practice who wish to expand their knowledge in this area. We begin with a discussion of teams and health care teams in general and, more specifically, the members of the specialized neurorehabilitation teams that address vision and cognitive dysfunction after ABI. The next chapter presents an overview of how the visual system works followed by a chapter describing the assessment and treatment of visual dysfunction after ABI from occupational therapy perspectives. The next two chapters focus on visual perception and inattention.
